NO GREAT IDEAS

Hello, there!

My name is Jan… and I am now, like at this very moment, experiencing my most terrifying midlife crisis that is now pushing me to “re-ignite” my passion in visual creativity.

This so-called passion started when I was in my late teens, early 20s. But as I grew older (and older), that room and time spent on photography got smaller and smaller, thinner and thinner — dude needed and still needs to make money!

I now have the opportunity to re-train myself, and to study and keep up with the latest trend in multimedia arts. So yeah, I am currently grabbing every opportunity I could get by the balls.

Transitioning in Germany

Hi there, my name is Jan.

I left the semi-corporate world of the Philippines and Singapore back in the end of 2015 to face a new (and very challenging) life in Germany. Moving in the country has had - and still has - its challenges: the food; the lifestyle; the weather; and definitely the language.

Over the years, I have met some interesting people from my language classes bringing in different culture, interesting life background and stories, and different and amazing stories to tell about their past and on-going good and bad experiences moving to a different country.

What do I do in Germany?

End of 2017 when I finally had the opportunity to have a real job in Germany — working in Fujifilm — and boy that was an adjustment!

Germany is a melting pot of different culture from almost all over the world, and working in Fujifilm was no exception. There, I have learned more about dealing with different work and personal views while juggling a three-shift-system.

Over the years, I have learned and gained machinery and a well-structured workflow operation, as well as, building friendship — real friendship.

Unfortunately, it was not always butterflies and rainbows: working on three shifts has sadly taken my time on being creative, using my camera and trying to learn new things. Let me clear up some things though, it was in no-way that the company has taken all of my freetime - it was I who did not really have the ability to manage and balance my work and my freetime.

So moving on from the company, I have decided to work on my passion again on digital arts — focusing on photography, photoediting and publishing designs, and eventually hoping to transitioning into videography.

Here’s to a new beginning, a restart, and to hopefully sharing some photos I have taken the past year on holidays, and hopefully seeing the improvement I will be making.
